Beijing's Daxing district has established five volunteer service sites in public places and a dozen in key communities, and they started operations on June 12
At the terminal building of Beijing Daxing International Airport, volunteers from the Capital Normal University provide information, guidance, check-in assistance and other services to passengers. They also give out brochures containing details about traditional Chinese festivals.
On the district's streets, passersby are likely to see volunteers giving road direction or discouraging uncivilized behaviors.
In response to local issues, 12 key communities have carried out different activities that include garbage sorting supervision and security risks investigation.
Daxing has committed to improve the quality of its voluntary services, calling for continued efforts in terms of maintaining the district's normal functions and honing community management.
