Tianjin's three-month consumption-promoting event kicks off today, and will run to September 16, with over 600 themed activities and discounts offered to promote international consumption.
The Tianjin Commission of Commerce plans to issue 60,000 "blind box" discounts, covering more than one million coupons, vouchers and various gifts. It goes online at 8 pm, and people can get it for free on the official WeChat account of "GOTIANJIN".
According to reports, the 500 companies and merchants involved in the "6.16" discount event have cumulatively launched 200,000 coupons, 100,000 full discounts, 10,000 food coupons and 3,000 gifts, involving shopping malls, supermarkets, nightclubs, and automobiles, catering markets and more.
During the event, hundreds of large shopping malls, supermarkets and convenience stores in the city will offer discounts and promotions.
The night economy will be highlighted with special attention to popular night life spots in the city. At the same time, a "Buy Tianjin Auto Brand Day", will inspire local purchasing.
E-commerce platforms will set up special activity columns for Tianjin on June 16 where the latest and most fashionable brands will be gathered, and a batch of products will make their debut.
In addition, neighboring provinces and cities will showcase Tianjin's folk customs during the event.
A launch ceremony will be held on the evening of June 16. For the following three months festivals for auto, beer, food and other activities will be held to enrich the consumption life and spending habits of the general public.
Tianjin will also host other gatherings such as the National Sugar and Alcohol Commodity Fair and the China (Tianjin) International Automobile Exhibition before the end of the year.
