Daxing district of Beijing struck a strategic cooperation agreement with Chengdu-based company Dongfang Electric Co (DEC) on June 10 to drive the hydrogen industry and green development.
The firm is expected to establish a Beijing headquarters, an R&D center and a manufacturing base in Daxing. According to the document, the two parties will give priority to fuel cell development to jointly expedite industrial integration in the hydrogen sector.
Dongfang Electric Co takes the lead in China particularly in R&D and manufacturing of core components of fuel cells including membrane electrodes, stacks and fuel cell engines.
In recent years, Daxing has been committed to improving the efficiency of resource utilization and accelerating green and low-carbon development on the premise of strict environmental protection.
At present, a hydrogen refueling station with the largest daily refueling capacity in the world has been completed in Daxing district and will be put into use soon. The first international hydrogen exchange center in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region will also be opened to the public at the end of June.
With more than a hundred projects and many leading companies such as Sinohytec and Hydrosys in place, the district has established an entire industry chain.
