The BAIC Ruixiang brand was unveiled at the Chongqing International Auto Exhibition on Saturday with its first model, the X5 SUV, making its debut.
The brand comes after the bankruptcy, reorganization and renaming of BAIC Yinxiang.
Co-created by BAIC, the Chongqing government and the Hechuan district government, the brand has a new management team and will produce passenger and commercial vehicles in new energy and gasolines models for customers at home and abroad.
According to Liao Xionghui, CEO of the brand, BAIC Ruixiang will produce five new energy vehicle models and three gasoline models. BAIC Ruixiang produce around 50,000 units this year, according to Chinese financial media outlet Yicai.
The brand will set up online and offline marketing channels, including offline experience centers, city exhibition halls and online marketing platforms, to provide personalized multifunctional services.
