Lexus premiered its latest NX SUV on Saturday online, the first plug-in hybrid powertrain model for the luxury Japanese brand.
The car is equipped with Lexus’ Advanced Park intelligent parking system that allows users to control the vehicle via their smartphone. The e-Latch system allows for the remote opening and locking of doors.
The NX is also fitted with the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite, which includes risk avoidance emergency steer assist that can make gentle braking and steering corrections to avert collisions.
Production of the model will start in the third quarter of 2021.
The Japanese carmaker launched the NX in 2014. As of the end of April, Lexus has sold around 1 million NX models worldwide.
