June 12: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 35 new cases of confirmed infections (27 imported cases, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Yunnan province, 4 in Jiangsu province, 4 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 8 indigenous cases in Guangdong), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 15 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 807 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on June 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,228 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,926 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 302 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 10 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 11, the National Health Commission had received reports of 91,394 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,312 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 446 confirmed cases (including 12 cases in serious condition) and 10 suspected cases. 1,036,547 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 11,166 were still under medical observation.

On June 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 27 new asymptomatic cases (26 imported cases; 1 indigenous case in Zhejiang province). 21 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on June 11, 383 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 361 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on June 11, 24,426 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,874 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,593 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 52 in Macao (51 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 12,500 in Taiwan (385 had died and 1,133 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
