On June 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 21 new cases of confirmed infections (15 imported cases, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Yunnan province; 6 indigenous cases in Guangdong), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 18 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 625 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 2.

As of 24:00 on June 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,188 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,903 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 285 confirmed cases (1 case in serious condition) and 11 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 9, the National Health Commission had received reports of 91,337 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,285 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 416 confirmed cases (including 12 cases in serious condition) and 11 suspected cases. 1,034,038 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 10,172 were still under medical observation.

On June 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 27 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 15 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 14 imported cases) and 2 (indigenous cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on June 9, 371 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 351 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on June 9, 23,892 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,872 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,587 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 52 in Macao (51 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 11,968 in Taiwan (333 had died and 1,133 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
