The Ministry of Culture and Tourism released 10 national tourism routes centered on the Yellow River on June 3. Sixteen attractions in Shandong province are featured in the routes.
The routes are focused on natural scenery, historical culture, intangible heritage, the revolutionary history of the Party and rural landscapes along the Yellow River.
The Shandong Museum, Daxinzhuang Relics site, and Dongpingling ancient town in Jinan, the provincial capital, are part of these routes that explore the origins of Chinese civilization.
The three Confucius sites – the Temple and Cemetery of Confucius and the Kong Family Mansion in Qufu, a county-level city in Jining city - are part of the route focused on ancient personalities who lived along the Yellow River.
Mount Tai in Tai'an city and the three Confucius sites are part of the route that explores the world's natural and cultural heritage site situated along the river.
The Yellow River International Ecological City in Dezhou and Yellow River Ecological Tourism Area in Dongying will allow visitors to take in the picturesque views of the river.
The kites and Yangjiabu woodcut New Year paintings at Qilu Cultural Ecological Protection Area in Weifang are centered on intangible cultural heritages in the region.
The Jinan Campaign Memorial Hall in Jinan, Kong Fansen Memorial Hall in Liaocheng, and Railway Guerrillas Red Tourism Scenic Area in Zaozhuang are focused on the history of the Communist Party of China.
Dawenkou town in Tai'an, Zhujiayu village in Jinan, and Haoyu village in Zibo are themed on rural revitalization in the Yellow River region.
