Flight B737, carrying 13 tons of cherries, took off from Yantai, Shandong province on May 27 and arrived in Shenzhen, Guangdong province three hours later, marking the opening of this year's flights by Yantai to transport cherries.
The flights, backed by SF Express and China Post Group, will depart from Yantai Penglai International Airport and arrive in southern China's cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, and Quanzhou within three hours. There will be seven or eight such flights a day.
This is the eighth year that "cherry flights" have been opened in Yantai. In recent years, the service has brought prosperity to the city's fresh fruit e-commerce market, as well as greatly promoted the development of the air freight services and cold chain express logistics industries.
