The Fête de la Musique is back in China. This popular festival has become a must in major Chinese cities for those keen to celebrate summer with music.
The festival takes place from May 27 to June 30 across China and offers a program as rich and varied as in 2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, global travel is still under strict scrutiny. Therefore, the festival focuses more on French artists who are already present in China.
The program covers a wide range of genres: hip hop, electro, pop, jazz, rap, metal, reggae, groove, soul, R&B ... More than 150 free concerts will be held in 10 cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Canton, Chengdu , Shenyang, Kunming, Wuhan, Shunde, Lijiang, and Changsha.
France will be represented by Djang San and his musicians on a sound that combines indie rock and traditional Chinese music. Boris Background will be the standard bearer of the French Touch and Pierre Pradat Organ Quartet will offer unforgettable jazz moments.
The Franco-Chinese duo Gemini embodies the diversity of the Music Day scenes with an avant-garde Chinese pop sound. Chinese programming will feature artists as talented as Backspace, Cati2, Chinese football, ETA, Fake Gentle, Li Xiaoyun or even Ma Bang.
