June 4: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new cases of confirmed infections (15 imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 9 indigenous cases in Guangdong), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 17 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 988 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.
As of 24:00 on June 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,101 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,809 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 292 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on June 3, the National Health Commission had received reports of 91,194 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,187 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 371 confirmed cases (including 8 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,027,742 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,286 were still under medical observation.
On June 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 21 new asymptomatic cases (20 imported cases; 1 indigenous case in Guangdong). 16 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 13 imported cases) and 3 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on June 3, 375 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 341 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 3, 21,874 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,849 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,577 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 51 in Macao (49 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 9,974 in Taiwan (166 had died and 1,133 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
