More than 100 foreigners in Shanghai attended an open day at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) on May 28.
The event introduced them to TCM and traditional Chinese culture, as well as the university's international education curriculum.
Xu Jianguang, the principal of the university, delivered a welcome speech in English to the attendees via video, providing details of the development of the university’s international education.
The foreigners then attended a lecture and spoke with teachers about the university's degree courses, non-degree training and related vocational development.
They also learned about acupuncture treatment and "tuina", a traditional, massage-like body therapy.
The university also organized a special session to teach the foreigners to make China's traditional rice snack, zongzi, for the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival, which this year falls on June 14.
