Short video contest seeks to capture spirit of Lu Xun's 'Hometown'

The year 2021 marks the 140th anniversary of Chinese writer Lu Xun’s birth and the 100th anniversary of the publication of his celebrated work Hometown.

On the occasion of this centenary celebration, the Lu Xun and World Culture Research Institute of Beijing Language and Culture University launched the "Global Hometown Envoy Project & Short Video Competition of 100 Countries and Hometowns", to highlight the love of one's hometown reflected in Lu Xun’s works and invite friends from all over the world to share their passion for their hometowns.

From May 1 to July 31, the contest invites friends from home and abroad to submit a short video in any form on the theme of "Hometown in My Eyes". Ten winners will earn the opportunity to join a trip to Lu Xun’s hometown of Shaoxing city in Zhejiang province.
