Economy
Located at the juncture of Gold Coastline and Yangtze Golden Waterway in eastern China, Zhoushan is a major coastal open city with its total value of imports and exports rising 45 percent to 113.50 billion yuan in 2018. It is a major exporter of aquatic products, food, textile and industrial products.
In 2018, Zhoushan recorded a GDP of 131.7 billion yuan ($19.06 billion), a year-on-year increase of 6.7 percent. The added value of primary industry was 14.3 billion yuan, increasing by 5.8 percent; the secondary industry was 42.8 billion yuan, rising 6.0 percent and the tertiary industry reached 74.6 billion yuan, growing by 7.2 percent than that of 2017. The 1012,490 yuan of per capita GDP in 2018 was 6.0 percent higher than that of 2017.
Administrative divisions
Zhoushan administers two districts and two counties, namely the Dinghai district, Putuo district, Daishan county, Shengsi county.The city currently consists of 36 township-level divisions, including 17 towns, 5 townships and 14 subdistricts.
