Location: Jinan, capital of Shandong province, is located in the Midwest of the province. It is at the southern foot of Mount Tai and the lower reaches of the Yellow River. It borders Dezhou on the north, Tai'an on the south, Liaocheng on the west, and Binzhou and Zibo on the east.
Economy
As the economic, cultural and political center of Shandong province, Jinan has been promoting the supply-side structural reform, accelerating its conversion of new and old kinetic energy, and transforming and upgrading its industrial structure in recent years. In 2023, Jinan's GDP exceeded 1.28 trillion yuan ($177.7 billion), an increase of 6.1 percent compared to that of 2022.
Administrative divisions
Jinan governs 10 districts – Shizhong, Lixia, Tianqiao, Huaiyin, Licheng, Changqing, Zhangqiu, Jiyang, Laiwu and Gangcheng, as well as two counties – Pingyin and Shanghe.
