More than 30 foreign diplomats from over 10 countries including the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and Japan attended the ongoing big data expo in Guiyang, Guizhou province, to tap more opportunities through the expo, Guiyang Daily reported on Friday.

The big data industry cannot thrive without the support of practical projects, said Guido Bilancini, consul-general of Italy in Chongqing. The holding of the expo in Guiyang not only promotes knowledge integration, communication and exchanges, but also brings about new ideas and promotes the implementation of sound projects. Guiyang itself can also look for development opportunities, further improve its economic layout, and promote the development of the local big data industry, he said.

Ran Peleg, consul-general of Israel in Chengdu, said Israel hopes to find more partners and opportunities via the expo, expand cooperation with Guiyang as well as the southwestern China, and build a new cooperation model.

Koen Sizoo, consul-general of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Chongqing, said he hopes the two sides will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in areas like building friendly cities, agricultural modernization, cultural tourism, and big data. Iem Puthviro, consul-general of Cambodia in Kunming, said Cambodia can draw on the experience from the expo and the two sides can achieve win-win cooperation.

Guizhou has made a big step in big data, and in digital applications, that's the area where the two sides can cooperate, said Wolfgang Rudischhauser, consul-general of Germany in Chengdu, reported China News Service Thursday.
