Tongchuan highlights aerospace industry at expo

Tongchuan city in northern Shaanxi province organized a promotional meeting for the aerospace science and technology industry on May 14 during the 5th Silk Road International Exposition.

The expo was held in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, from May 11 to 15.

Li Zhiyuan, deputy secretary of the Communist Party of China Tongchuan municipal committee and mayor of the city, delivered a speech at the meeting.

He said that Tongchuan has unique geographical advantages in the development of the aerospace industry, as it is located in the geometric center of Shaanxi, 80 kilometers away from the China Xi'an Satellite Control Center.

"In recent years, Tongchuan has seized the opportunity of the national civil-military integration policy and made efforts to build a commercial aerospace science and technology industrial cluster. The construction of the Shaanxi Aerospace Science and Technology Industrial Development Park has been steadily promoted," Li said.

The mayor said that his city will actively create a good environment with high-quality and efficient services and make every effort to provide favorable services and convenience to enterprises.

At the promotional meeting, a signing ceremony for project contracts was also held, with 28 deals worth 9.62 billion yuan ($1.49 billion) signed.
