Internet art convention kicks off in Beijing

The "Dapengbei" Internet Art Lover Convention kicked off in Beijing on May 20.

The convention was hosted by the China Nationality Culture Foundation, which aims to build a platform for internet art lovers who focus on traditional Chinese culture including traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy and seal cutting.

According to Bai Guoqing, chairman of the China Nationality Culture Foundation, the convention aims to promote and popularize national culture and art and cultivate more inheritors of national culture as well as more art lovers. "The convention is a new exploration in developing traditional Chinese culture through the internet," he said.

A special foundation for internet art development was established on the same day. Initiated by the China Nationality Culture Foundation, the new foundation aims to push the development of nationality culture and the inheritance of traditional Chinese culture through the internet.
