On May 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 12 new cases of confirmed infections (11 imported cases, 5 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Guangdong province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 1 indigenous case in Liaoning province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 14 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 224 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 2.
As of 24:00 on May 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 5,901 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,643 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 258 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on May 19, the National Health Commission had received reports of 90,920 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 85,990 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 294 confirmed cases (including 5 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,017,906 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,535 were still under medical observation.
On May 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 16 new asymptomatic cases (15 imported cases; 1 indigenous case in Anhui province). 10 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on May 19, 350 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 331 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on May 19, 14,410 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,827 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,539 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 50 in Macao (49 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 2,533 in Taiwan (14 had died and 1,133 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
