The Mount Tai Scenic Area in Tai'an, Shandong province ranked first among China's natural attractions in terms of joyful index, according to the ranking released among the May Day holiday.
Statistics showed that Mount Tai received 226,000 tourists with an increase of 13.4 percent year-on-year from May 1 to May 5, generating ticket revenue of 20.88 million yuan ($3.24 million), up 14 percent year-on-year. Mount Tai Scenic Area has saw strong tourism rebound during the May Day holiday
Local government has carried out strict epidemic prevention and control measures during the holiday including temperature measurement, checking health code and asking visitors to wear masks before enter the scenic area.
Mount Tai is a popular tourism destination in Tai'an, with breathtaking natural scenery. It was recognized as a world natural and cultural heritage site in 1987. It is also is the most famous sacred mountain of China, with exceptional historic, cultural, aesthetic, as well as scientific value.
