The No 513 Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation in Yantai, East China's Shandong province provided technical support for the country's space station, which was launched on April 30, giving humankind a new foothold in space.

The space station will become a common outpost for space-faring countries to explore the universe through cooperation.

The No 513 institute has developed 137 sets of products of 11 systems for the core module of the space station. All the products are currently running normally in orbit.

The space toilet, developed the No 513 institute, can help excreta overcome the effects of microgravity to complete collection, which improves the quality of life for astronauts in orbit.

The extra-vehicular communication subsystem realizes voice communication for astronauts with ground personnel.

The core module, named Tianhe or Harmony of Heavens, is 16.6 meters long with a diameter of 4.2 meters. It will be central to the space station's operations, given that astronauts will live there and control the entire station from inside.
