The Lin-gang Special Area – situated in East China's Shanghai city – recently held a series of promotional activities to boost shopping and retail spending by the general public.
Various night markets were reportedly opened, in order to develop the area's night economy.
The night market at New World of Port City offered a range of activities to draw in the shoppers – including performances and other forms of entertainment.
At the Dishui Lake art fair, tourists were able during the daytime to try their hand at making handicrafts – such as bird whistles, wickerwork or straw sculptures. As night fell, the organizers prepared an art salon, inviting artists to teach their painting skills and pass on their knowledge of photography.
Commercial facilities near the Yihao Oujing Community have also opened recently. Nearly 20 businesses held opening activities and themed night markets at a recent evening, providing a nice ambience for locals.
