Ontime, a burgeoning mobile transportation platform based in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, has launched its service in Zhuhai, Guangdong, aiming to tap the emerging mobile transportation market in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The platform has introduced the smart sharing transportation service in Zhuhai by providing the first batch of 500 new energy cars in the city's downtown area, the Jinwan airport and the Hengqin New Area.
The innovative platform, which was jointly founded by GAC Group, a leading automobile maker in Guangdong, technology giant Tencent Holdings Ltd and other investors, first launched its service in Guangzhou in June 2019.
The service was later introduced to Foshan, a manufacturing hub in the Pearl River Delta region, in August 2020.
Cars being used on the OnTime platform are mainly developed by the GAC Group, including its new energy vehicle model Aion S, which boasts high energy efficiency and safety, according to the company.
