2021 Donghua University summer Chinese program

Come and study Chinese at Donghua University (DHU)'s Summer Program! Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, this short-term program is the perfect way to dive into the Chinese language. And DHU offers more than just language fluency. Our teachers will guide you through diverse aspects of Chinese culture, society and history. The experience will enhance your cultural awareness and communication skills, and it will enrich your life in China!

In the coming summer term, DHU's International Cultural Exchange School (ICES) will offer short-term language programs both online and offline. We look forward to meeting you!

Overview

Program Features

We are the only language program in China accredited by Eaquals, which guarantees consistency and quality in our teaching methods.

Our class sizes are small, guaranteeing that teachers will have enough time to give each student the best-possible learning experience.

You will be placed in a class based on your proficiency level.

You will be able to do a lot of oral practice, using topical classroom discussions.

Schedule

Classroom (5 Weeks):

July 19, 2021 — August 20, 2021

Every Monday to Friday,

9:00 AM-11:45 AM (Beijing Time)

Online (3 Weeks):

July 19, 2021 — August 6, 2021

Every Monday to Friday,

4:00 PM-7:00 PM (Beijing Time)

Course Plan & Levels

Classroom:

10 levels; minimum class size is eight students.

Full-time Chinese language learning in Donghua University; Chinese culture workshops are also available, which ensure you gain practical experience of Chinese culture.

Online:

Seven levels; minimum class size is eight students.

Three hours per day (two-hour live classes and one-hour HSK tutoring). Extra online cultural lectures are available!

All learning materials, as well as assignments, will be uploaded to the learning management platform. Students in both online and offline courses can review the courses at any time.

Fees

Admission fee: CNY 200

(Students who continue their study will have their application fee waived.)

Tuition:

CNY 5,000 (Classroom);

CNY 2,800 (Online)

(Covers textbook fee)

Evaluations & Course Completion

After finishing the program and passing all the evaluations, you will receive the course completion certificate which will enhance your CV.

Application:

- Submit your online application at https://admissions.dhu.edu.cn/.

- Upload your passport page and ID Photo.

- Your visa page is also required if you apply for classroom courses.

- Choose 'Summer Program'

*New applicants recommended by international students who have studied in Donghua University before will enjoy an application fee waiver. Full name of the referrer is needed.

Application Deadline:

Classroom: May 26, 2021

Online: July 7, 2021

Admission:

Your application will be officially evaluated. If you are admitted, you will receive a notification email with the relevant information about the online placement test and enrollment process for the new semester.

Others

Visa:

Classroom: The university will offer student visa and Residence Permit (Study) application documents on a case by case basis. You can contact the International Student Admissions Office for details.

Online: The university will NOT offer student visa and Residence Permit (Study) application documents.

Dormitory:

Classroom: Students can apply for campus accommodation based on capacity. If the reservation is confirmed, please check in during the designated time as required.

Online: The university will NOT offer accommodation services or documents.

Refunds:

Non-refundable

Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, students will be allowed to enter the campus only if they follow the epidemic control policies and regulations of the Shanghai Municipal Government and Donghua University.
