The Nanhu Revolutionary Memorial in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, was established in 1959. It manages the site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). That historic first meeting was held over Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing in 1921.
To better protect and utilize Nanhu Lake, the Nanhu Revolutionary Memorial was given approval to establish a new museum, which opened to the public in 2011 to mark the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the CPC.
Since its establishment, the memorial has constantly expanded its collection via donations, solicitations and acquisitions. Presently, the museum houses more than 10,000 artifacts, including revolutionary relics, precious documents, valuable paintings and calligraphy works.
