April 30: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 13 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Hainan province), 3 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases, 2 in Shanghai and 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region), and no deaths. 9 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 413 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on April 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 5,657 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,370 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 287 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 10 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on April 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 90,655 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 85,691 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 328 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 10 suspected cases. 1,007,605 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 6,602 were still under medical observation.

On April 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 19 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 23 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 21 imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on April 29, 324 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 315 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on April 29, 12,940 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,770 in Hong Kong (209 had died and 11,404 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 49 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 1,121 in Taiwan (12 had died and 1,051 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
