Industrialization rate of China's patents for valid inventions was 34.7 percent in 2020, the National Intellectual Property Administration said in a latest survey on patents on Monday, China News Service reported.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), the industrialization rate of valid inventions in China stayed above 30 percent, as per the survey.
Nearly 80 percent of enterprises have a clear expectation on future patent incomes. Chinese corporate patentees are generally optimistic about the growth of revenue from patent enforcement in the future, the survey showed.
The survey discovered that patent infringement in China was in declining. In the 2020 survey, the patent infringement rate for patentees was 10.8 percent, down 3.7 percentage points compared with that in 2015.
In addition, the unlawful cost on patent infringement continued to rise in China. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the amount of money above 1 million yuan ($154,279) for compensation determined by court, for lawsuit meditation and for reconciliation was 7.3 percent, up 4.4 percentage points compared with that in the 12th Five Year Plan period (2011-2015).
