Hohhot students enchanted by colorful rod puppets

Students from Tongshunjie Primary School in Yuquan district in Hohhot, the capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, learn how to give a rod puppet show on April 12. In rod puppetry, an admired folk-art form, the movements of the puppets are performed by manipulating wooden sticks. The puppets have a cavity inside and their eyes and mouths can be moved using a stick or bamboo rod connected to the neck. The performer holds two control sticks in one hand. [Photo/VCG]
