The total investment in Hechi's transport projects reached 6.53 billion yuan ($1 billion) in the first quarter of 2021, making it the main driving force for the city's economic growth, according to the Hechi transport bureau.
As of March 14 this year, Hechi has invested 727.49 million yuan in ordinary highway projects, with a completion rate ranking first in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
Specifically, investment in the construction of national and provincial trunk roads made by Hechi had reached 181.12 million yuan by March 14, and their completion rate ranked fourth in the region. Meanwhile, investment in rural road construction was 546.37 million yuan, and the completion rate ranked first in the region.
In addition, the total investment in the city's expressway project was 4.96 billion yuan in the first quarter, accounting for 75.96 percent of the city's traffic project construction and making it the largest proportion of related investment in the city.
Hechi began construction work on the west Hechi (Yizhou) highway and the Hechi-Libo expressway on the same day, March 30. Both of these projects will help promote the development of the city's transport infrastructure.
Hechi will continuously accelerate the construction of major projects such as expressways and high-speed railways, strive to exceed its annual investment target of 26 billion yuan, and provide more extensive support for the high-quality development of the city's economy.
