China's largest SUV and pickup maker Great Wall Motors made the global premiere of its first full-size pickup on Monday at the Shanghai auto show.
The model, based on the carmaker's Tank platform, is also the first full-size pickup by Chinese carmakers.
It said the model is expected to meet the demands of high-end customers in terms of functionality and off-road capabilities.
The pickup sports a 3.0-liter v6 turbocharged engine, which is coupled with a 9-speed transmission, thus ensures an outstanding performance.
Great Wall Motors also unveiled its pickup product plan at the event.
They will fall in two categories: one is the Poer, or the Pao, which means the cannon. It is composed of mass-produced vehicles and special vehicles.
The other is the Paodan, which literally means the shell. Those are individualized models that are co-upgraded with refitting companies.
Great Wall Motors expect its pickup sales to total 500,000 by 2025, which will make it a top 3 pickup brand globally.
