Chinese electric carmaker GAC Aion unveiled a new logo on Friday, opening up a new chapter of the brand that spun off GAC New Energy Vehicle Co last year.
Vehicles bearing the new logo have rolled off the assembly and will soon arrive at its dealerships across the country.
GAC Aion's latest model, the Aion Y, will hit the market at the Shanghai auto show, which is expected to start on Monday.
GAC is expanding its annual production capacity to 200,000 vehicles a year, up from 100,000. The project is estimated to cost the carmaker 500 million yuan.
The carmaker said it will speed up efforts to launch new models, and its existing models including the Aion S will have face-lift versions this year.
