Aima unveiled its latest e-bike model, the A500, last week, which it said marks its transition towards a convenient mobility technology company.
"The A500 is our new starting point to offer convenient mobility solutions for customers," said CEO Ren Yong.
Aima has rolled out 50 million electric motorbikes in the past years.
And the A500, which is available in three variants, is its latest product, as a result of its extensive research and development based on understanding of local customers.
The model, produced in the same procedure as vehicles, has a driving range of 150 kilometers on one charge.
Ren said the age of simple production is almost, so brands and products without core technological advantages will be lost in the market.
China has a huge market of electric motorbikes, and the size of the segment will continue to grow in years to come.
Statistics from Founder Securities show that the e-bike sector is expected to grow by 15 percent year-on-year from 2019 to 2023, and the market output is to double from 50 billion yuan to 100 billion yuan.
There are sub-segments composed of young moms and daily commuters, so the one-fits-all mode will not work.
