April 15: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 10 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 4 in Guangdong province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Hubei province and 1 in Sichuan province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 11 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 893 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on April 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 5,464 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,248 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 216 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on April 14, the National Health Commission had received reports of 90,457 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 85,524 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 297 confirmed cases (including 5 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 1,000,991 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 10,503 were still under medical observation.
On April 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 15 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 8 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 7 imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on April 14, 300 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 280 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on April 14, 12,728 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,612 in Hong Kong (209 had died and 11,237 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 49 in Macao (48 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 1,067 in Taiwan (11 had died and 1,029 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
