April 12: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 16 new cases of confirmed infections (14 imported cases, 4 in Fujian province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Shandong province; 2 indigenous cases in Yunnan province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 7 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 546 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on April 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 5,435 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,226 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 209 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on April 11, the National Health Commission had received reports of 90,426 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 85,495 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 295 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 996,857 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,619 were still under medical observation.
On April 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 12 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 5 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on April 11, 301 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 276 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on April 11, 12,687 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,581 in Hong Kong (207 had died and 11,206 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 49 in Macao (48 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 1,057 in Taiwan (11 had died and 1,022 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
