The High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Xi'an, Shaanxi province on Northwest China, one of the country's top zones of that type, announced the launch of ten key activities to further promote consumption through culture and tourism.
At a press conference held on Friday, Wang Hairuo, deputy director of the zone's management committee, said the activities were launched to cultivate new consumption hotspots, stimulate new consumption potential, and empower high-quality economic and social development.
According to Wang, in 2020, faced with the impact of novel coronavirus pneumonia on cultural tourism, her zone insisted on finding opportunities in the crisis and opened up new bureaus for the new situation, trying to promote integration of quality and development.
"In 2021, we are focusing on high-quality development and high-quality life. From April to December, my zone will launch ten key activities, including a series of night Carnival tours and the Xi'an IN Science and Technology Art Festival. Through integration of culture, tourism, sports and business, we will accelerate upgrading of consumption and help construction of Xi'an as a cultural and tourism consumption pilot city," the deputy director said.
Consumer coupons, car subsidies, policy incentives and subsidies will be provided to the public and relevant enterprises to further upgrade consumption, Wang said.
"For example, for cars produced locally and sold locally, a subsidy of 2,000 yuan per car will be given to car buyers, and 1,000 yuan per car will be given to car buyers who make purchases at local 4S stores," Wang said.
Wang said that simultaneously with those activities, her zone will also build major landmark projects of cultural and tourism integration, including a cultural industrial park, a tourist resort, a grand theater, Liangjiatan Wetland Park, a Hilton Hotel and a Hyatt Shangcui Hotel to create new cultural and tourism scenes such as night tourism consumption, scientific and technological experiences, and charming city and rural cultural events.
