Yantai deepens cooperation with Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan

Agreements for five projects were signed online between Yantai, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan during a promotional event on March 23.

The event focusing on deepening exchanges and cooperation between Shandong province, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan was held via both online and offline channels. Its main venue was in Jinan, capital of Shandong, while Yantai, a coastal city of Shandong, served as one of the sub-venues.

The projects signed during the conference involved healthcare, new energy, new-generation information technology, and cultural creativity and have a total investment of $481 million and also a contracted foreign investment of $199 million.

Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan are important trade partners of Yantai. Yantai has been deepening economic and trade cooperation with Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan even during the COVID-19 epidemic period.

In 2020, a total of 174 projects from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan were approved to be built in Yantai, an increase of 34 percent year-on-year.
