On April 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 26 new cases of confirmed infections (19 imported cases, 9 in Fujian province, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Yunnan province; 7 indigenous cases in Yunnan), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 11 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 421 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on April 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 5,324 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,146 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 178 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on April 2, the National Health Commission had received reports of 90,252 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 85,413 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 203 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 991,818 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 6,547 were still under medical observation.
On April 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new asymptomatic cases (19 imported cases, and 5 indigenous cases in Yunnan). 11 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 8 cases became confirmed cases (including 7 imported cases). As of 24:00 on April 2, 300 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 266 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on April 2, 12,586 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,499 in Hong Kong (205 had died and 11,122 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 48 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 1,039 in Taiwan (10 had died and 987 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
