On March 22, the X8153 China-Europe freight train (Xi'an) departed from Xinzhu Railway Station in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province.
Loaded with 50 containers, the freight train will leave the country via Horgos Port in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. It is carrying goods including compressors, high-voltage isolating switches, auto parts, small household appliances and bicycles.
The train's departure brought the total number of containers transported via the freight train to 30,049 in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 24.36 percent.
Due to the prevention and control measures for the COVID-19 pandemic, 40 percent of the goods transported by the freight train were transferred from air and sea transportation channels.
The freight train has saved transportation time, increased the added value of cargo transportation and provided a stable foreign trade channel.
Since the beginning of this year, China Railway Xi'an Group Co has communicated with corporate customers, learned more about the source of goods and delivery arrangements and optimized its transportation plan to improve the efficiency of the freight train.
At present, the freight train operates 15 trunk routes to Central Asia, South Asia, West Asia and Europe, covering the entire Eurasian continent.
