March 31: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On March 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 11 new cases of confirmed infections (5 imported cases, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 6 indigenous cases in Yunnan province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Inner Mongolia autonomous region), and no deaths. 4 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 552 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.
As of 24:00 on March 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 5,290 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,119 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 171 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on March 30, the National Health Commission had received reports of 90,201 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 85,385 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 180 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 989,470 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 4,792 were still under medical observation.
On March 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 8 new asymptomatic cases (5 imported cases, and 3 indigenous cases in Yunnan). 14 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on March 30, 255 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 252 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on March 30, 12,533 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,461 in Hong Kong (205 had died and 11,085 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 48 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 1,024 in Taiwan (10 had died and 981 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
