A total of 12 Wuxi-based enterprises were listed among the top 100 innovative enterprises in Jiangsu province in 2020, local media reported on March 30.
Sponsored by the Jiangsu Science and Technology Development Strategy Research Institute, the list featured 100 leading enterprises with advanced innovative capabilities, many economic benefits, strong industrial influence, and a high-level of innovative management.
The city's 12 listed enterprises focus mainly on the semiconductor, new energy, and automobile manufacturing industries and include chip packaging and testing company JCET Group and Maxscend Microelectronics Co.
Maxscend Microelectronics Co is this year's newcomer to the list. It is also one of China's top 10 private local chip design companies. It invested in the construction of wafer manufacturing, packaging, and testing lines in November of last year.
Among the listed enterprises working in automobile manufacturing, FAW Jiefang Automotive Co Ltd Wuxi Diesel Engine Works has finished the intelligent transformation of its Huishan factory, which is expected to increase its production capacity by 52 percent and reduce costs by 20 percent.
In August 2020, Miracle Automation Engineering Co inked a deal with Tencent Cloud to build an industrial cloud platform for automobile manufacturing. In addition, the company agreed to cooperate with Ubtech Robotics Co on smart warehousing, commercial logistics and industrial collaborative robots.
Wuxi has been putting a strong emphasis on science and innovation in recent years, and in 2020, the city's contribution rate to scientific and technological progress exceeded 66 percent, ranking first in Jiangsu province for the eighth year in a row.
