East China's city of Shanghai has reportedly put together plans to accelerate the development of five outlying areas – in a bid to optimize its development layout and boost the city's economic growth in the next five years.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, Shanghai will push to take the development of Jiading, Qingpu, Songjiang, Fengxian and Nanhui into the fast lane, so they become engines of growth.
On March 28, the Shanghai Administration of Culture and Tourism and the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Lin-gang Special Area Administration signed a strategic cooperation agreement to boost the cultural and tourism development of Nanhui new town.
Under the terms of an agreement inked at the opening ceremony of the Shanghai Citizens Art Festival, new tourism modes in the new town will be cultivated and its tourism and environmental resources will be integrated.
The agreement also includes the construction of a demonstration zone for the integration of the national cultural and tourism sector.
Shanghai's public service system for culture and tourism will reportedly be enriched and the construction of intelligent tourism service facilities will be accelerated.
The city's cultural and tourism administration has signed cooperation agreements with the municipal governments of Jiading and Fengxian districts on the development of cultural and tourism landmarks, the supply of public cultural facilities and the development of the auto tourism industry.
