March 27: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On March 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 12 new cases of confirmed infections (11 imported cases, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Sichuan province and 1 in Guangdong province; 1 indigenous case in Jiangxi province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 14 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 244 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.
As of 24:00 on March 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 5,254 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,096 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 158 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on March 26, the National Health Commission had received reports of 90,159 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 85,362 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 161 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 987,472 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 4,036 were still under medical observation.
On March 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 27 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 5 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 3 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on March 26, 270 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (all were imported cases).
As of 24:00 on March 26, 12,500 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,439 in Hong Kong (205 had died and 11,023 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 48 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 1,013 in Taiwan (10 had died and 973 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
