Chongming Island gears up for China Flower Expo

Thirty small gardens created by gardening enthusiasts from cities in the Yangtze River Delta were on display in the park. One of these gardens, "Flyback", was created by Shanghai resident Fan Chunyan and her cousin Shi Yanwen.

"I became interested in gardening only three years ago. I am so happy to showcase our amateur work at this event," said Fan, who built her garden with secondhand furniture and discarded wooden planks.

"We want people to feel the healing power of nature and the nostalgia of countryside life."
