Jilin province in Northeast China plans to invest 3.6 billion yuan ($552 million) this year in the construction and upgrading of 2,000 kilometers of rural roads, the renovation of 150 dangerous bridges, and the implementation of 2,000 kilometers of security projects, according to Jilin Daily.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), Jilin province completed a road development investment of 50.97 billion yuan. It built and upgraded 1,607 kilometers of arterial roads and 13,000 kilometers of rural roads.
In 2020, the province promoted rural road construction as a major livelihood improvement project. Over the year, it invested 6.54 billion yuan, rebuilt 4,472 kilometers of rural roads, completed 1,709.7 kilometers of security projects, and renovated 133 dangerous bridges.
