The coastal city of Yantai, East China's Shandong province, will focus on expanding its digital economy to help fuel the city's high-quality development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).
Yantai will speed up the construction of digital infrastructure for 5G networks, digital centers, and IPv6 and build a 5G industrial cluster in an effort to achieve full 5G coverage by 2025. More efforts will also be made to improve online government services.
The city will work to promote the deep integration of the digital economy with the real economy, accelerate digital upgrading, and foster new forms of digital industry. The local government will also encourage information technology enterprises to accelerate their transformation into cloud computing product and service providers.
In addition, the city will accelerate the construction of smart villages, promote "Internet Plus" government services, and promote digital application in public fields such as education, healthcare, transportation, culture and tourism, employment, and public security.
