CPPCC members from Xiamen, East China's Fujian province submitted a joint proposal on further promoting the construction of the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution innovation center in the coastal city.
The chief proposer Zhang Jian said that the proposal comprises of four suggestions, including setting up a joint conference involving ministry-, provincial-, and municipal-level departments to push forward construction and support operation, as well as establishing a special institution that takes charge of the overall work.
The members also suggested establishing normal platforms for innovation and cooperation among the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), such as forums, industrial innovation competitions, and exhibitions themed on the new industrial revolution, financing and investment platforms, as well as innovative alliances involving higher learning institutions, innovative institutes, and industrial leaders.
The proposal also highlights Xiamen's role in the center's construction. Zhang suggested that the central government support Xiamen in pilot reforms on talent introduction, investment and trade, as well as cooperation related to BRICS countries.
