Dong Mingzhu, chairwoman of Gree Electric Appliances
In Dong's view, since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012, China's manufacturing industry has made obvious achievements in product quality and technology. The construction of China's standard system continues to improve.
But foreign invested brands or US industrial standards and certification requirements were chosen affirmatively as a threshold during the bidding of some projects. Chinese enterprises have to pay enormous sums for certificate cost, and have even lost the right of speech in the domestic market.
Dong suggested strengthening Chinese standards and certificates and promoting their use to build a fair market. She said China should have its own standards which should be stricter than international ones. Any products have to be certificated by Chinese standards before entering China's market.
Chinese standards should be also promoted in foreign markets, Dong said.
