Feb 27: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 10 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 5 in Guangdong province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Sichuan province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 24 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 3,689 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on Feb 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,984 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 4,824 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 160 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Feb 26, the National Health Commission had received reports of 89,887 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 85,021 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 230 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 977,995 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 4,399 were still under medical observation.
On Feb 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 8 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 18 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 10 imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Feb 26, 258 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 248 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Feb 26, 11,949 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 10,950 in Hong Kong (198 had died and 10,493 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 48 in Macao (47 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 951 in Taiwan (9 had died and 906 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
