Northeast China's Jilin province made good progress in terms of its business development in 2020, adding six national ports throughout the year according to local media reports.

During the period, the province also saw the approval of 22 major policies and issues made by the State Council.

Jilin boasted 35 major projects supported by national ministries and commissions over the year, plus 32 rural demonstration counties for e-commerce, three cross-border e-commerce comprehensive test areas, and eight foreign trade transformation and upgrading bases.

In 2020, the province's business department coordinated efforts in both epidemic prevention and control and business development, improving the effectiveness of investment promotion and helping the recovery of consumption.

The province's business economy continued to grow, the basic role of consumption continued to increase, and the quality of foreign trade imports and exports steadily improved over the year, laying a solid foundation for the province's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025).

In 2021, the province's business department will focus on four core tasks: stabilizing foreign trade, stabilizing foreign investment, promoting consumption, and attracting investment.

It will promote the construction of pilot free trade zones, organize 22 economic and trade cooperation activities, and promote the eight key tasks for business development as confirmed in the 14th Five-Year Plan.
