The X9041 China-Europe freight train (Xi'an) departed from Xinzhu Railway Station in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Feb 22, carrying 50 containers of juice, plastic products and daily necessities.
The train's departure brings the total number of containers transported via the freight train to 20,011 in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 52.3 percent.
Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic situation, logistics and transportation channels from China to Europe have been affected to varying degrees, disrupting the regular and orderly progress of corporate procurement and economic and social development.
During this uncertain period, China-Europe freight train services have played an important role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods and stable supply of materials between China and Europe and other countries along the route.
As of Feb 22, the China-Europe freight train (Xi'an) has operated 423 trips in 2021, mainly transporting goods such as auto parts, photovoltaic products, electronic products, daily necessities and pandemic prevention materials.
Among these trips, 198 were to European countries such as Germany, Poland and Lithuania, a year-on-year increase of 168 percent, which helped guarantee economic development and supply chains for the countries along the train's route.
To ensure the regular and stable operation of the freight train, China Railway Xi'an Group Co provides customized solutions based on corporate customers' storage and transportation needs.
The company has also optimized the transportation plan and shortened the loading, unloading and transit time to improve the freight train's efficiency.
